More Information Regarding Scholarship Application

Dear Friends,

The Chinese American Association of Solano County (CAASC) will celebrate “The Year of the DRAGON” at its 28th Annual Chinese New Year Celebration on February 24, 2024. With an annual attendance of over 400 people, this event is guaranteed to sell out. Due to the change of venue and limited seating, we ask that you purchase tickets early. The festivities will include an authentic Chinese dinner, traditional Chinese Lion Dance, cultural performances, silent auction, raffle prizes, awarding of scholarships and recognition of outstanding contributors and leaders in our community. This is a great opportunity for you to contribute and in turn be recognized.

In the realm of community service, one of our primary goals is to offer scholarships to graduating high school and current community college students from all ethnic backgrounds in Solano County, as our future is directly dependent upon the education of our youth. The Chinese New Year Celebration is our largest annual fundraising effort. Proceeds from this event directly benefit our scholarship program. Because of your support, in the last twenty-seven years, 369 outstanding students received CAASC scholarships totaling in excess of $270,500.

Over the past two decades, we have enjoyed tremendous success, due, in large part, to friends, sponsors and supporters like you. As we begin preparations to welcome the “Year of the DRAGON,” we come to you and seek your support again. We ask that you select one of the sponsorship levels on the sponsorship form (on the back page) to help us achieve our goal of providing deserving students with much needed financial assistance. Through your friendship and generosity, we can ensure the education for our children, who will be the leaders of tomorrow.

Thank you Frontline Workers for your service to the community!

We first want to thank all frontline workers for being there to help support and protect our community during these difficult times.

Here at CAASC, we want to also do our part through the donation of PPE gear to frontline workers in our community in areas like the Bay Area, Sacramento, Solano County and even further beyond to Seattle and New York.

This effort would not be possible without the help of our very own CC Yin, who has led the initiative in the donation of surgical masks, goggles, gowns, face shields, and hand sanitizers to frontline workers.

For more information regarding CAASC and our donation efforts, we recommend viewing our Facebook page, as well as reading ABC7News story about CC Yin’s work in the community.
